Happy Thanksgiving...

Some photos of Makeyla with her second cousins playing in my BIL's and SIL's pond. One thing led to another and before we knew it the kids were in the pond. LOL IMG_0710edited

Thank God he keeps it really clean. They must have been in there for an hour or more.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. We did…

I forgot to share…

Makeyla’s Halloween costume…

IMG_0637

Where did my Tinkerbell of last year go. LOL  She went trick or treating in Kihei so we didn’t get to see her reactions. Mom said that she knew the drill. All 3 of them are at home sick. It started with Makeyla and she shared the love with Mom and Dad. I haven’t seen her all week.

Well I think I’m putting up the rest of my Christmas decorations today. I know there are those of you who wait until after Thanksgiving to do so but. I’m one of those that can’t wait. *smiles* I’m also one of those that takes everything down the day after Christmas. Could it be because I put everything up too early? Probably…Ü

I was up early today…got up turned over but couldn’t get back to sleep. Last night I found a site that had the Cricut Create die cutting machine for $129.99. That’s a steal but I hesitated because I’m just scrapping cards now. Well I was thinking about it, the reason why I couldn’t sleep, and decided that I would bite the bullet and order it. Well you know the saying *you snooze, you lose* well it came to bite me in the you know where. Logged onto the site and it’s now $184.99. Still a good price  I know but not $129.99.  I really want to kick myself. LOL

Well I’m off to make some coffee and start my day. Have a great one…

Have you ever…

tried these…

smart ones

They are really tasty. I love frozen microwaveable meals for lunch when I’m lazy and don’t want to prepare something. I recently tried this and I love the flavor. Grant it, this is the only one I’ve tried so I can’t vouch for the other choices but I can honestly say that this tastes terrific.

I just read this blog today and thought about these entrees. For someone who needs to lose about 50 lbs. this would surely come in handy. I just found out my local Walmart carries some of the meals. I just printed a $1.00 off coupon from the Smart Ones site. Think I’ll put some into my shopping cart tomorrow.  Ü

Updated my background…

you likey? Ü Got it from here: Hot Bliggity Blog. MF of http://www.scrapbookeronline.com had the link on her blog. Check it out. You might find something you like.

On the home front, everything’s going along it’s merry way. I did some more Christmas shopping. Got the children pretty much taken care of. I’m ready to wrap some presents. LOL I got some cute polka dot paper from Walmart. Nice and bright greens and reds. Sssssh I also setup my Christmas tree yesterday. It seems like each year it’s getting earlier and earlier. *smiles* I’ll share later. I’m not quite done yet. I think I’m losing the snow flakes this year. Going more towards the traditional greens and reds with a little gold thrown in. I wanted a slim tree, but couldn’t find one I was crazy about so I’m sticking with the same tree. I set it up in a different area this year; between the dining room and living room. No tree in the living room. LOL That’s something new. You can see it from the living room, kitchen and dining room so I wouldn’t say it was bad. I kind of like it. I can’t wait for the negative comments from the kids. (both adult and little) ha. Tom likes it and so do I and that’s what counts. So there… *smiles*

I’ve changed computers. My old computer got that bug last month and it hasn’t been working quite the same. It’s still working but we were afraid it would crash so I got a laptop from Office Max. I spent the weekend transferring my files. However, I didn’t get it all to transfer and I lost my Live Signature. I have to go create a new one. We’ll still be using the old computer in Tom’s office but we haven’t connected it yet. So I’m signing off as just plain…

I redid my siggy...yay me!

I don’t know if I ever…

shared but I love shopping at our local Ross discount store. I love going to Ross and finding great deals.

See this little side table

IMGP5581edited

Got it for $17.99 with my 10% Senior Tuesday discount. Originally only $19.99. I have Makeyla’s books in the basket drawers. The two striped pillows on the loveseat were $4.99 each. The cover on the loveseat I got at Walmart on clearance for $15.00. It’s a stretch cover and I love it. I also have one in brown but I’m gearing up for the holidays and I love the red.

See this table

IMGP5571

$44.99 less 10% for my senior discount. The two pillows on the couch were $6.99 each less 10%. The rug...$34.99 less 10%. Love it! Ü Love all of the bargins I've found. I try to check for bargins every Tuesday so I can get my senior discount. Ü I ♥ Ross.

Well Lisa and I went shopping today and I got the boys 3 shirts each, Makeyla 2 shirts, a drape panel (I’m using it to cover our foot stools), a photo frame, and a Christmas garland for $81.13 and that’s with no 10% discount. I should have waited till Tuesday but I wanted Lisa’s help in choosing the shirts for the boys. I must share my chicken I got the other day LOL…I think she’s so cute. LOL

IMGP5585

She was $6.99 no discount cause I got her on a Sunday and not Tuesday. *smiles*

The curtains in the living room were $7.99 a panel. It’s made of linen and I love the airy feeling to them. Let’s see if I can find a photo…BRB

IMG_0645

It’s a little hard to see but I love them. At first I wasn’t sure about them but as the days go by I’m liking them more and more.

See that on my dining room table with the apples in it, also from Ross. I think I paid $9.99 for it minus the 10%. LOL Oh, and the apples also came from Ross.

IMGP5582edited

If you have a Ross’ near you and haven’t been to it lately check it out. You never know what kind of bargins you’ll find there.

Have a great week…

Hi again…

just wanted to share a few cards that I’ve created recently.

IMG_0610edited

I’ve been having fun using this Cosmo Cricket paper. While in Georgia, I visited Archiver’s and got the 6X6 paper pad. Perfect for making cards. All of these cards are 4X4. I’m loving making this smaller size. I also used a lot of different border punches on these. On this one I also used an embossing folder with vines and birds. The *ribbon* is hem binding tape. It’s so soft and easy to use.

IMG_0613edited

On this card I did some heat embossing with a stitch stamp, some Hero Arts stamps and white embossing powder.

IMG_0617edited

Here I used heat embossing again, punches and ribbon. Of course, had to get a Prima flower in there too. Ü

IMG_0620edited

Here I used a KCompany flower and some twine.

IMG_0622edited

Again, more or less the same supplies.

Tax papers are still sitting in the same spot. I better call the accountant and find out how much more time I have. LOL

Have a great Wednesday. I’ll be at my desk doing paper work as usual.

Okay….

it’s time I shared my last two months or so. On September 2 Tom and I went here…

IMG_0562

The home of the KFC metal chicken, Marietta, Georgia. *smiles* We were there for 10 days. Lisa was supposed to go with us, but on the Sunday before we were to leave, she got into a motorcycle accident and broke her leg. That was on August 30th. It was way too late for us to cancel so Tom and I left without her. I was a little nervous cause she usually does the driving on our trips. We used our GPS and believe it or not we did all right. We were so proud of ourselves. ha ha ha

We stayed here…

IMG_0564

I was also nervous about this. It’s an extended stay hotel and I wasn’t sure how it was going to be. I’m glad to report that it was okay. You don’t really have maid service but they do come in every few days and clean. We were pretty much on our own but it suited us. Usually when we stay at hotels we don’t request maid service everyday anyway. It had a little kitchenette, a love seat and an area to eat. We did a lot of bringing our food back to the hotel and eating in. Suited Tom and I. There was a Krogers down the road where we could buy fruits and snacks. It really felt like home which as great cause we had quite a long stay.

We also got to go here…

IMG_0560

We found our way to IKEA in Atlanta. Bless that GPS. We would have been lost without it, literally. LOL

We left 1 week before the bad flooding in Atlanta. I understand that the area around Marietta was pretty bad. It broke our hearts when we heard about the flooding. It’s a pretty area and it was sad to hear of the destruction.

We ventured far and wide. Made our way to several cities around Marietta and even went to our regular stomping grounds, Newnan. We got caught in a rain storm and the GPS got a little confused but we made it back to home base safe and sound. It was a great trip for Tom and I and we now know that we can find our way around if we have to. *smiles*

A week after we got home my sister came to visit. I hadn’t seen her in over 7 years, so it was quite a reunion. She stayed for a little over a week and was amazed at the changes in Maui. She hadn’t been back here for over 18 years so you can imagine how surprised she was at the changes. She enjoyed all of the local foods that she doesn’t have in Colorado. LOL The visit was way too short and before we knew it she was heading back to Colorado.

About Lisa…she hasn’t been back to work since her accident. While we were in Georgia, she developed a blood clot in her leg. She has been on blood thinners and is being monitored weekly. She has to keep her leg elevated when she’s sitting thus no working. She finally is doing better. The hairline fracture has healed but the blood clot is still there. She has a doctors paper that she can return back to work anytime between October to November 30th. I think she’s going to try going back the first week of November. Hopefully she’ll do all right.

Well things are finally settling down here. Maybe we can finally get back to what we call *normal*. LOL

PS

Guess who hasn’t sent in her tax papers yet. They are still sitting in the same area they were at when we left on our trip. *sigh*

PPS Got a new header. What do you think? Made it in Picasa. Really easy to do.
